Classic americana rock band, Karson City Rebels, to release debut CD – Drivin’

Indie classic Americana Rock band, Karson City Rebels (KCR) will introduce its debut CD, DRIVIN,’ featuring original tunes stoked with a retro blend of Americana-rock, blues and Bakersfield sound. The newly formed six-member triple-threat group, Karson City Rebels, worked alongside Grammy-winning producer Gerhard Joost (Stevie Wonder, Missy Elliot, Sangeeta), recording the tracks at Studio Hill Austin and Sal Rodriguez’s Studio in LA.

Showcasing performances by KCR band members [multi-instrumentalist Jon Adams, guitarists Kyle Appleton and Chris Brooks, Brian Burwell (on drums), and Jon Greathouse (on keyboards and vocals)], the six-song album (DRIVIN’) will be available Friday, October 4, 2024 via all major digital retail and streaming outlets (Amazon/iTunes/Pandora/Spotify/Tidal).

Aptly titled, DRIVIN’ encompasses songs that travel a road map of various life experiences, from free-fallin’ love, the aftermath of a break-up, time-lapse reflections and a reason to celebrate.

Carrying the torch for legendary tunesmiths and trendsetters, the album boasts intricate melodies assembled with live improvised in-studio instrumentation akin to ZZ Top, Traveling Wilburys, Fabulous Thunderbirds and Bob Segar. With song titles like “Let’s Party” (written alongside Michael Keene of The Faceless), “Time Done Gone,” “Big City Full Of Love” and the title track, DRIVIN’ spotlights edgy, one-of-a-kind soundscapes that appeal to music lovers with a taste for classic Americana rock instrumentation.

“DRIVIN’ is a collection of six songs that tell stories–ranging from a hot love affair to lost love, to guitar heroes and wild party times,” said songwriter, co-producer and KCR band leader Gil Karson. “The sound of the band and the music we are making, fusing hard rock, country and blues, is my dream come true.”

KCR made early introductions to the project with the release of the feverish young love song “Runaway Train” (April 2024), the sophomore single–a signature party anthem–“Let’s Party” (June 2024), followed by the boogie blues rock tune and time-lapse summation of a musician’s life, “Time Done Gone,” (released on August 23).
