Words are interesting things, without context, meaningless, only given any purpose at all by the way they are wielded. One person can use hundreds of words and still not say anything interesting, just turn the TV on! Others can make you think with just a few well-chosen words. With his latest single, Sehore, he goes one step further: he chooses almost meaningless, non-words and makes us think deeply about why.

“Bla bla bla (cha cha cha)?” What does it mean? I take it as a commentary on pop music—it doesn’t need to say anything intelligent; it just needs to sound nice and make you wanna dance. But I could be wrong. But my point is that, using only two words — five different letters in all — Sehore has started a conversation. How cool is that?

And what Sehore does with the music is equally fascinating. A strange blend of post-punk vibes and old rockabilly grooves, new-wave pop, and alt-rock adventure, it is a staccato, beat-driven song that is more compelling an invitation to dance —as oddly and unashamedly as you like —as anything found in the mainstream dance genre.

In recognition of just how boundary-pushing and key to ensuring that music moves forward the song is, “Bla bla bla (cha cha cha)” received the Bronze Medal at the 2025 Global Music Awards (previous single “Pesadilla” picked up a Silver). A credit not just to Sehore but also to Paco Loco Studio, where it was mixed, and to Mario G. Alberni at Kadifornia, where it was mastered, not to mention the ongoing support from MusicHunters.

If you find this beguiling sonic mix and mindful creativity intriguing, check out the album it comes from, Husfikbur, a collection of songs as eclectic, adventurous, thought-provoking, genre-hopping, and groundbreaking as you can hope to find. Do it now!
