So, what better way to celebrate your first EP turning ten cycles around the sun than with a bit of a sonic makeover? With Better Days, now entitled Better(er) Days, being rerecorded, the first single, Forget About It, is here to remind us all of just what good work Bad Mary has been doing for over a decade now.
Taking a hefty slice of the glam era stomp, staccato beats and anthemic sing-along style and matching it to their signature, garage rock sound, a raw edge sonic beast filled with attitude and swagger, they have delivered, or should that be redelivered, a tasty tune indeed.
Throughout its life, the song has remained a live favourite, and it isn’t hard to hear why. Raw, raucous, rebellious, riotous and plenty of other adjectives that don’t even begin with the letter “R,” it is a reminder of everything that rock and roll was, is and, with bands like Bad Mary doing such sterling work, will remain.
