There is an excellent play-off between the mutated, raw walls of guitars and thunderous backbeat of this new one from The Zaramutas and the quiet, calculated, controlled and almost sinister vocal delivery that sits on the top of the song. Dynamically, it starts impactful and then steps up even further from there. This is no slow burn or case of easing the listener in gradually.
But as always, Olina’s voice is the constant presence, seemingly unaffected by the musical maelstrom squalling around it. The effect is genuinely menacing.
