Mentioned in Dispatches: Naked – Antibes

As always, I’m late to the party but, as they say, better late than never, and I’m glad that I caught up with this in the end. Naked is a mix of opposites – melancholic sounds and joyful optimism, space and chiming sonics, understatement and impactfulness, sophistication and simplicity. But, then again, the opposite do attract, and this is a very attractive proposition.

If their debut single is this poised and poignant, their use of space this masterful, and their writing this deft and delicate, then Antibes are a band to keep tabs on. After all, who knows where they might go next, musically speaking.
