As musicians, I think it is best to avoid pushing too hard into unknown sonic quarters to create new music. Generally speaking, the future of most genres lies in what they have already achieved rather than what is yet to come. And it is a philosophy found in The Named Drivers’ music.

They take the holy trinity of the modern mainstream music, rock, pop and indie, and use what each does best to weave their song. It has rock drive, indie swagger and pop infectiousness, nothing we weren’t already aware of. But this frees them up to concentrate on writing great songs rather than rebuilding the landscape under it. And At That Stage is a great song.
