It is only natural for people like me, i.e. lazy journalists, to try to find reference points from the past to explain the slice of new music that has just landed on their desk. If we are going to do that, then using Primal Scream as a yardstick is about as good as things get.

The perfect blend of soul and swagger, harmony and hedonistic promise, muscle and melody, groove and grave, beat and beatific buoyancy.
