It’s all very well asking music to evolve, to move with the times, and to create new sounds and styles, but sometimes you just need a bit of old-school, heavy blues-based, kick-arse rock and roll in your life. And when that happens, you turn to bands such as 20 Year Short Break.
After all, you can make a good argument for rock and roll music having found its perfect form, and if it isn’t broken, then don’t fix it. So if you want a slice of foot-on-the-monitor, anthemic, heavy-as-hell, groovesome rock and roll, this is the band for you, and Roots is the song of the moment.
