I often look with suspicion at a bands chosen genre tags and self-appointed labels; many are chosen to sound cool or controversial. I thought as much when I read the genre applied to this latest one from I Am No Longer A Ghost. After all, what might Indie-Folk/Emo/Metal even be?

Well, after playing Either, I can’t think of a more apt and accurate description. A song that starts in a very contemporary, dark folk place, which builds to some metallic crescendoes, drops down to more brooding emo sonics and then proceeds to mix and meld and match and merge all of these, and perhaps more, genres into a mercurial and melodic anthem.

I will not be so dismissive of generic labels in the future, you have my word on that.
