A taste of old-school grunge from modern-day Italy? Yes. But more than that, Fugue err to the more polished and poised side of that sound rather than the often chaotic and sonic squalling once sound associated with the genre. Or, put another way, more Pearl Jam than Nirvana.
But that is what makes them perfect for the here and now. It is their alt-rock accessibility rather than the more dated musical onslaughts that translate into a sound that fits perfectly with today’s underground rock scene.
