Known for making stadium-level rock noise often with only acoustic guitars, Dirty Power revisits a bluesy roots past via a cover of Rory Gallagher’s iconic A Million Miles Away. Their version is heavier, more grunge-infused, slightly slower, and more brooding than the original blues-rocker, but then, I’m a great believer that if you are going to cover a song, even one as well known as this, then you might as well put plenty of your own musical personality into it. And that is precisely what they do.
They somehow managed to draw a line between Rory Gallagher and Nirvana, and the results are fantastic.
