If you are one of those people who think that an acoustic guitar means the same as folk music, then I would ask you to play Laughter & Disaster, or perhaps anything by Emily Anderson and then try to defend your position.
This is pop music, balladic pop music. But it is executed with such poise and majesty, such lyrical depth and emotion, delicacy and deftness, and such passion and panache that you probably wouldn’t recognise it as such.
But it is. And it is brilliant.
