2:45 is a neat blend of indie cinematics and rock weight and energy, but with all the infectiousness and chartability of a pop song. That’s a great place to stand on the sonic map when making music; it ticks so many boxes, which is always a good thing.
Throw in some clever dynamic twists, such as a nice lulling break that allows space for some ethereal and emotive arabesque vocals and a chorus that demands that you join in and sing along even by the second time it comes around, and you have one helluva song!
