New Music of The Day – XXIV: Where I Wanted To Be – The Incredible Disappearing Boy

Although known more as a producer and engineer in recent years, Samuel Bates return to his own musical muse is a major triumph. Fusing  Americana, indie and rootsy rock he has fashioned a musical identity that sounds as if Wilco had grown up in the M4 corridor, a sound that seems happy to reference past music traditions whilst striding confidently into a bright future.

The eponymous debut e.p. will be available via Secret Chord Records on 27th April, but revel in the following song and video in the mean time.
