More Than Enough – Stephanie Jeannot (reviewed by Dave Franklin)

More Than Enough comes from a place, an attitude and self-view,  that transcends other people’s opinions of you, specifically those who seek to undermine you, derail your ambitions and hold you back. It says it all in the title, the belief that you are more than enough, that empowering self-confidence, that comfort with who you really are, is something that all of us should travel through life armed with. That way, no matter what people say or do to trip you up as you head towards your goals, you can brush their words and actions off with a mere shrug.

And musically, the message is driven by a fantastic slice of modern R&B groove and easy pop accessibility, soul coolness and seductive beats. But more than anything, Jeannot’s voice stands proud in the spotlight. As a collaborator and performer with everything from jazz ensembles to classical philharmonic orchestras to more contemporary endeavours, she knows her way around the musical landscape. And, in a career with so many existing high points, More Than Enough is certainly another sizeable sonic peak.
