Mentioned in Dispatches: Rome’s Bounty – Dynasty Four

Punk might have ended up as a cliched, disenfranchised caterwaul, all (anti-)style and no actual substance, but it started very differently. It started sounding like a sped-up, abrasive pop songs – simple, raw, and brilliantly accessible. It started sounding like Dynasty Four’s single, Rome’s Bounty.

Here, we find punchy, staccato guitar riffs, perfectly tuned backbeats, and a front line built of swagger, attitude, and in-your-face art attacks. Man, I miss those days, but at least we have bands like Dynasty Four to act as a neat little time time-travel.
