When I see the name East Kilbride (a place that at least part of the band calls home), I always know that I’m in good musical company, as this unlikely location spawned people who would lead or drive such creative forces as Aztec Camera to The Jesus and Mary Chain and gave us Alan McGee and his Creation Records.
Here For You is a great piece of indie/alt-rock that wanders between brooding brilliance and tumbling, percussion-driven breaks, incorporates hushed vocals that sit low in the mix, and a relentless energy that drives things to squalling crescendoes as it heads to the finishing line. Great stuff. There must be something in the water in that part of Scotland.
