It’s incredible how much a video adds to a song. Of course, I’m not saying for one moment that Indecent Proposal’s music needs such media to lean on; everything they do stands on its own two feet. Actually, it bops about, throwing in some boogie-infused footwork as it grooves along to its own sound, but you know what I mean.
And, as instant and accessible, as buoyant and full of energy as Albright is, things are turned up a notch or two when you see the accompanying video. Essentially, a performance video shot throughout the various stages of its production process, from rehearsing in a stark, unadorned room through to a full-blown cinematic performance, one that really puts faces to names, or should that put faces to the sounds that the players make.
Filmed at the Historic Duluth Armory just prior to its renovation project, Albright’s accessible indie-rock sound gets a visual boost as the band pulls out all the moves and grooves expected of them.
It’s a great song, yes, but one taken to even greater heights by the power of the visual image. It’s the full package.
